`DON’T CALL HER AFTER MIDNIGHT’

- the new album by The Michèle Welborn Band.

Don’t Call Her After Midnight is a collection of 13 eclectic songs and tunes played by The Michèle Welborn Band.

The pieces reflect both the contemporary and traditional musical backgrounds of the players and moves easily through vibrant rhythm, flowing lyricism and haunting melody.

The title track which opens the album clearly defines the quality and individuality of the contemporary material you are about to hear. Later tracks such as 'Stand Up Song', 'On Saturday' and 'A Fine Madness' verify the musical integrity of the band’s performance.

Traditional material such as 'Johnny’s Gone For A Soldier' and 'Rolling Of The Stone', alongside 'Mad Head' and 'When My Morning Comes Around' illustrate the band’s ability to move comfortably between musical styles.

Michèle Welborn’s striking voice has a remarkable flexibility and emotional range which is suitable for every song she sings. All the songs are well arranged and sympathetically accompanied. There is a very nice balance between singer and musicians giving each track individuality unusual in a collection mainly of song.”  SHIREfolk January 2005.

“My toes didn’t stop tapping – aren’t you all clever!”  Harry Kramer, aged 92.

Many of the songs on the album are co-compositions by writer Jenny Miles and band member Paul Martin.
