Don't Call Her After Midnight
Date: 2004
Don’t Call Her After Midnight is a collection of 13 eclectic songs and tunes played by The Michèle Welborn Band. The album reflects their current live performance and repertoire. The pieces reflect both the contemporary and traditional musical backgrounds of the players, and move easily through vibrant rhythm, flowing lyricism and haunting melody.
The title track which opens the album clearly defines the quality and individuality of the contemporary material you are about to hear. Later tracks such as 'Stand Up Song', 'On Saturday' and 'A Fine Madness' verify the musical integrity of the band’s performance.
Traditional material such as 'Johnny’s Gone For A Soldier' and 'Rolling Of The Stone', alongside 'Mad Head' and 'When My Morning Comes Around' illustrate the band’s ability to move comfortably between musical styles.
